Newark Gift Card Sale Launches For Black History Month 2024
People who buy a Newark Gift Card valued at $50 or more will get a chance to spend some free bonus credits at a local Black-owned business.
NEWARK, NJ — For a limited time, people who buy a “Newark Gift Card” valued at $50 or more will get a chance to spend some free bonus credits at a local Black-owned business.
The digital Newark Gift Cards are accepted at more than 150 local businesses in the Brick City. They can be sent via email or text, or printed and presented to business owners. The business gets all the funds (minus a normal credit card service fee). Learn more here.
As a nod to Black History Month in February, a “free bonus” sale for the municipal gift cards is taking place.

People who buy a Newark Gift Cards valued at $50 or more will get a free bonus card for 50 percent of the purchase. The bonus card will only be accepted at participating Black-owned businesses (see the list here).
Limitations include one purchase per person. The sale will continue while supplies last/funds are depleted. The bonus card expires in 90 days, but the main card does not expire.
