Newark High-Rise Apartment Fire Displaces Family

The Newark Fire Division's Arson Unit is investigating the cause and nature of the blaze.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark fire officials are investigating a two-alarm fire that took place at an 18th floor apartment on the 100-block of Clifton Avenue on Saturday. Nobody was injured, but a family was displaced as a result of the blaze, authorities said.

The fire took place at an apartment in the high-rise around 8:22 p.m. The apartment was rented, but nobody was home at the time of the blaze, the Newark Department of Public Safety stated.

The American Red Cross responded to assist with displaced family, authorities said.
