Newark Man Dead in N. 13th Street Shooting

A 28-year-old man was shot to death in the area of N. 13th Street and 6th Avenue in Newark Thursday night, authorities said.

Shane White, of Newark, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

A 31-year-old Newark man was also shot during the same incident and was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

Both shootings are believed to be targeted. No arrests have been made.

An investigation by the prosecutor's office's Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and Newark Police Department is active and ongoing.
