Newark Man Goes Missing After Discharge From Hospital: Police
A 57-year-old Essex County resident left a hospital on Jan. 21. He didn't return home, authorities say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are searching for a missing man who was recently discharged from a hospital in Essex County – and never returned home, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Jean Kensel Pierre Louis, 57, of Newark, was reported missing on Jan. 21.
“Mr. Louis [was] admitted to Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark on January 21 and was discharged on that same date,” police said. “He did not return home.”

Louis is 5 feet 4 inches and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue pants, and “his mental and physical conditions are reportedly good,” police said.
Authorities said Louis is known to frequent the area of South Orange Avenue and Sanford Avenue in Newark. Anyone with information can call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
