NEAWRK, NJ -- Newark police are asking for the public's help finding a missing, 36-year-old woman, authorities announced Monday evening.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Nakita Williams, 36, of Newark, was reported missing on Jan. 27.

Williams was last seen on Bergen Street in Newark, and frequents the locations of Scheerer Avenue near Hunterdon Street and the 500-block of Elizabeth Avenue, authorities said.

Williams is 4 feet 11 inches and 145 pounds. She was wearing a green bubble coat, blue jeans, and white Nike sneakers. Her hair was worn in two round ponytails.

Authorities said anyone with information can call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.

The missing person case involving Williams is the second issued in Newark on Monday. Earlier in the day, police announced that they are searching for a missing man who was recently discharged from a hospital in Essex County – and never returned home.
