Newark Police Arrest 10 Women During Prostitution Bust
The operation took place "in response to quality of life complaints" in the area of Hawthorne Avenue and Birks Place, Newark police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Members of the Newark Police Division’s Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) arrested 10 women, including three from out of town, on prostitution charges in an operation that began on Friday, authorities stated.
According to police, the operation took place “in response to quality of life complaints” in the area of Hawthorne Avenue and Birks Place. Keep updated with local public safety alerts at the Patch Newark Facebook page.
Three of the women were from out of town, hailing from Jersey City, Middleburg, Florida, and New York City, authorities said.

Police charged all 10 of the women with soliciting and prostitution. Some were also charged with contempt of court on individual outstanding warrants, authorities said.
