Newark Residents Temporarily Evacuated; Gas Line Struck
A construction company working in a Newark residential neighborhood stuck a gas line and caused a break in a pipe, authorities say.

NEWARK, NJ — A construction company working in a Newark neighborhood on Thursday afternoon stuck a gas line and caused a break in a pipe, temporarily forcing a precautionary evacuation of some local residents, authorities said.
A Newark police officer was on the scene when the break took place around 4 p.m. on the 100-block of Wyndmoor Avenue, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Newark police and fire crews temporarily evacuated residents on Wyndmoor Avenue from Keer Avenue to Field Place as a precautionary measure, authorities said.
