Newark Says Farewell To Fire Chief After 30 Years On The Job
Enjoy your retirement, John Centanni… Newark owes you.

NEWARK, NJ — Enjoy your retirement, John Centanni… Newark owes you.
Earlier this month, city officials and emergency responders gathered at the Newark Public Safety Complex Headquarters building to honor Fire Chief John Centanni, who recently announced his retirement after 30 years of service to the city.
During the Oct. 3 ceremony, a convoy of police and fire apparatus escorted Centanni from his 480 Clinton Avenue office to a Department of Public Safety training facility at 191 Orange Street. On his arrival, Centanni signed the unit’s fire log book for his final time, signifying the end of his service.
