Newark Is Sending Dumpsters To Each Ward For Public Use (Here’s When)

Got some trash to throw away? The City of Newark will be putting out dumpsters in each ward later this month.

NEWARK, NJ — Got some trash to throw away? The City of Newark will be putting out dumpsters in each ward later this month that will be open to the public.

City officials announced Wednesday that the “Love Newark Keep it Clean” campaign will be returning for 2024. The city will be deploying trailers of rubbish removal equipment and dumpsters to each ward beginning on Saturday, May 18 and continuing two Saturdays a month through Sept. 28 (see schedule below).

Starting on Saturday, May 18 at 8 a.m., Newark DPW staff will join forces with residents at designated staging areas to distribute cleaning materials such as trash bags, brooms, and shovels necessary to remove litter and bulky trash from the area. Dumpsters will be positioned for proper disposal, officials said.
