Newark St. Patrick’s Day Parade Is Coming Back For 2022
Only three things have managed to stop the annual parade since it launched in 1936: WWII, a snowstorm and the COVID pandemic.

NEWARK, NJ — Only three things have managed to stop the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Newark since it launched in 1936: World War Two, a major snowstorm in the late 1960s, and the coronavirus pandemic.
But local revelers who missed the parade’s presence in 2020 and 2021 can rejoice, organizers say. The beloved event will be back for 2022.
The oldest Irish American parade in New Jersey will take place on Friday, March 11. It kicks off at 1 p.m. in downtown Newark. Learn more here.
