Newark to Resurface Ferry Street

As work begins, motorists are urged to allow extra travel time.

Mayor Cory Booker and Engineering Director Mehdi Mohammadish announced Monday that the City of Newark will resurface two portions of Ferry Street in the East Ward.

“We are repaving and resurfacing Ferry Street to make it safer for pedestrians and motorists alike, enhancing safety and the quality of life in our East Ward,” said Mayor Booker. “I urge residents to take additional time and plan for delays when driving down this street during work hours.”

“Ferry Street is one of the city’s most important arteries, and this project will keep it safe,” said Mohammadish. “I commend the Division of Traffic and Signals on developing this program.”
