Newark TSA Agents Return Lost $40,000 Chinese Painting

Transportation Security Administration agents at Newark Liberty International Airport had an unusual item grace their lost and found box on Friday… a $40,000 Chinese painting.

The Associated Press reported that an art dealer left the painting behind while flying from Newark to Hong Kong.

When she realized the painting was missing, the woman called her husband in Ocean County, who then called the airline.

The valuable piece of art – which had been rolled up in a hard cardboard canister for transport – had been left at the TSA checkpoint and turned into the lost and found department on discovery, a report stated.

According to the Associated Press, two other high-priced items have been recovered through the lost and found this year at Newark Airport: a four-carat diamond ring and a diamond-studded gold watch.
