NJ Assemblywoman Hosts Women Veterans Event In Essex County

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker held a Women Veterans Appreciation Day event earlier this month at Military Park in Newark.

Tucker, the chair of the Assembly Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, represents several municipalities in Essex and Union counties, including Newark.

The assemblywoman hosted the event in association with the Department of Veterans Affairs Newark Regional Office, Operation Sisterhood, Veterans Yoga Project, GI GO Fund, and the State of NJ Commission for Women Veterans in concert with National Women Veterans Appreciation Day.

Women veterans from multiple area organizations attended the event, which provided information about veteran services and resources.

“It is important for us to honor the service and dedication of the women who served to protect our freedoms here and abroad,” Tucker said. “The event was our thank you for their selflessness and sacrifice on the front lines.”
