NJ Doctor Accused Of ‘Inappropriately Touching’ Patients In Newark

The Woodbridge resident was also charged with criminal sexual contact after incidents in Perth Amboy and Freehold, prosecutors said.

NEWARK, NJ — A doctor in New Jersey has been accused of “inappropriately touching” patients at an urgent care center in Newark, authorities announced Friday.

Gurvindra Johal, 55, was charged with three counts of criminal sexual contact. He is accused of inappropriately touching two patients under his care at an urgent care center on Broad Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Johal has also been charged with criminal sexual contact after incidents in Perth Amboy and Freehold, prosecutors said:

“Johal, 55, of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, N.J., has also been charged with criminal sexual contact by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office for the alleged inappropriate touching of patients under his care at an urgent care center in Perth Amboy, N.J., and an urgent care center in Freehold, N.J.”
