NJ Has 82 Active Peace Corps Volunteers; New Program May Add More
A partnership between the Peace Corps and four other well-known "service organizations" may help to get more volunteers into the pipeline.
NEW JERSEY — A new partnership between the Peace Corps and four other well-known “service organizations” may help to get more volunteers into the pipeline.
On Tuesday, the Peace Corps unveiled a new initiative dubbed “Circle of Service,” which strengthens its relationship with City Year, Public Allies, Teach For America, and Tilting Futures. Learn more about the program here.
As part of the partnership, the Peace Corps will offer “expedited review” of volunteer applications from alumni of the above four organizations. In addition, the agency will provide returned Peace Corps volunteers with information about employment and/or volunteer opportunities to serve at Circle of Service partner organizations, creating pathways for them to share their experiences and build upon the professional and intercultural skills they developed during their deployment.
