NJ Senate President Sweeney to Address Local Business Leaders

Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) of MetroWest hosts first-ever 'Strictly Business' breakfast, Dec. 5 in West Orange

LIVINGSTON, NJ – New Jersey State Senate President Steve Sweeney will address Essex and Morris County business leaders and owners at Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) of MetroWest’s inaugural “Strictly Business” breakfast on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.

The state’s highest-ranking legislator, Sweeney has served as senate president since 2010 and has represented the state’s 3rd legislative district since 2002.

The first JVS Strictly Business event, from 8 a.m.-10 a.m., will also honor Village Super Market, Inc. as JVS Business Leader of the Year. Co-chairing the event are Ken Peskin of Summit and Adam Gurien of Warren.

After his address, Sen. Sweeney will visit the JVS programs in East Orange.

“Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest is honored to have New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney as the featured guest speaker at our inaugural Strictly Business breakfast," said Peskin. "Given all the changes that have taken place in our state—many of which affect the business community—we know local business owners and leaders will appreciate hearing firsthand from Sen. Sweeney about the issues that matter most to them."

Chair of the JVS Board of Trustees, Michael Goldberg, said: “At JVS, we understand that when local businesses hire JVS program participants, it is not only good for the program participants, it is good for the businesses that hire them.

"Village Super Market Inc., our Business Leader of the Year, has been a long-time JVS community partner. They recognize the strengths JVS program participants bring to their workforce, and we look forward to honoring them on December 5.”
