NJ Transit Bus Driver Trades Punches In Street Fight (VIDEO)

As the NJ Transit bus driver gets knocked down with a punch, bystanders film the fight with their phones and laugh.

NEWARK, NJ — NJ Transit officials have taken a longtime bus driver out of service after he was allegedly seen trading punches with another man on a busy Newark street while on-duty, a report says.

A video capturing the fight has garnered more than 63,000 views and 1,400 shares on Facebook since being posted on Sunday.

In the video – which picks up mid-fight and doesn’t provide any context for what happened before punches started flying – the driver can be seen squaring off with his dukes up against a younger man.

As the fight takes place, multiple bystanders film the confrontation with their phones and laugh.

At one point, the bus driver gets knocked down after taking a punch, but gets up and reenters the fray, only to take another hit.

The younger man eventually leaves the scene and starts walking down the street. The bus driver then walks after him for a short distance before returning to his vehicle and waiting passengers, then driving away.

A bus number, 5756, can be seen on the vehicle.

NJ Transit officials told NJ.com that the incident took place near Bergen Street and 12th Avenue. The driver, who has been working with the agency for 10 years, has been “taken out of service pending the outcome of a thorough investigation,” officials said.
