Nurse Stabbed Near Newark Hospital: Reports

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a 60-year-old nurse during a robbery attempt in a New Jersey parking lot, reports say.

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a 60-year-old nurse in the stomach during a robbery attempt in a parking lot near the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark on Sunday night, reports say.

The nurse was stabbed while walking to her car around 7:30 p.m. during an apparent robbery attempt on the 100-block of South Orange Avenue, a Rutgers spokesperson told NJ.com. The victim managed to make her way to the emergency room at University Hospital and was rushed to surgery.

No additional information was immediately available.
