The workforce initiative offers intensive training, job placement help, and support with housing, childcare, and transportation, and is already connecting graduates to local employers while recruiting Newark-area residents for its next cohort starting November 13.

Armed Suspect Bursts Into Newark Home, Fatally Shoots 21-Year-Old Irvington Man Dead (rlsmedia.com) — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Newark's South Ward that left a 21-year-old Irvington man dead after he was shot multiple times inside a South 16th Street residence. Emergency crews rushed him to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and prosecutors say the probe into the motive and suspect remains active.
