PJ’s Coffee Expands Into NJ With Newark, Fairfield Stores
Both stores will have walk-up windows and practice rigorous coronavirus safety and cleaning protocols, spokespeople said.

NEWARK, NJ — New Orleans-based PJ’s Coffee is expanding into New Jersey with stores in Newark and Fairfield.
The Essex County locations are the company’s first in the Northeast U.S. Each are owned by local franchisees.
The Newark store is located at 2 Center Street; it opened in June. The Fairfield store, which is slated to open in July, is located at 437 Route 46.

Both stores will have walk-up windows and practice “rigorous” coronavirus safety and cleaning protocols, spokespeople said.
“I was considering opening a coffee business and a friend recommended PJ’s because the brand is doing very well as a franchise,” said Newark franchisee Islam Badr. “I’m excited to bring a little bit of New Orleans hospitality and flavor to New Jersey.”

“We love New Orleans and we wanted to bring something new to the area,” says Divna Popovska, franchisee of the Fairfield location. “New Jersey folks like to drink their coffee and with PJ’s, they can start a new coffee tradition.”
Part of the Ballard Brands portfolio of businesses, PJ’s Coffee now has 141 operating stores, and expects that number to increase to 170 by the end of the year.
