PSE&G Vice President Leads March of Dimes Effort to Improve Health of Hudson County Babies
Jorge L. Cardenas, PSE&G Vice President Asset Management & Centralized Services in Newark, chairs walk on April 24th

More than 9800 of New Jersey babies will be born premature this year, and business leader Jorge Cardenas is working with the March of Dimes to change this.
Jorge L. Cardenas, PSE&G Vice President Asset Management & Centralized Services in Newark, knows how important the March of Dimes mission is. As a grandparent and a premature baby himself, he has taken on the role of Hudson County March for Babies Chair to raise awareness and important funding to provide for babies who are born prematurely or with birth defects. Cardenas has made the commitment to raise $42,000 as part of the overall goal of $196,000.
March for Babies, the March of Dimes largest fundraiser, helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies. Last year in Hudson County, more than $189,000 was raised. This year, March for Babies Chair Jorge Cardenas will focus on recruiting new companies to participate and lead the community in making a difference for the health of moms and babies.

“It is an honor to be the chair of this walk this year. My daughters and grandchildren all were brought up with the March of Dimes and the mission to make all babies healthy. Join us to ensure this vision becomes a reality,” said Cardenas.
Hudson County residents can sign up today at www.marchforbabies.org and start a team with co-workers, family or friends. Last year, more than 1500 people attended the event -- which will be held this year on Sunday April 24 at Liberty State Park.
