Here's how much the winning slate of candidates in Newark's school board election raised enroute to their victory, a report says.

NEWARK, NJ — The winning slate of candidates in Newark’s 2024 school board election raised more than $60,000 in campaign donations enroute to their victory, a report says.

Incumbent candidates Dawn Haynes, Helena Vinhas and Vereliz Santana captured seats on the board by wide margins. Meanwhile, another candidate aligned with the slate, Kanileah Anderson, ran unopposed in a special election for an unexpired at-large seat.

The Moving Newark Schools Forward team was endorsed by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr.

Together, these four candidates raised $63,490 in donations. They spent a combined $36,609 of that total, Chalkbeat Newark recently reported, citing disclosure reports filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
