Show Shoveling Argument Leads To Gunfire In Newark: Police

A morning argument over a snow shovel turned ugly, reports say.

Newark, NJ – A morning argument over a snow shovel turned ugly on Sunday when a Newark man was allegedly shot in the mouth and buttocks, police said.

The alleged victim – a 38-year-old man – told Newark police that he found the shovel on the ground and was in the process of clearing a neighbor’s sidewalk when Saqirah Davis, 36, of Newark, approached him and claimed that the shovel was hers, NJ.com reported.

After an argument, the victim began to walk away from the woman when she approached him flanked by three men, one of whom allegedly shot him in the buttocks, RLS Media stated.

When the victim attempted to grab the gun, a second woman allegedly struck him in the mouth, NJ.com reported.

Newark police arrested Davis a few hours after the shooting and charged her with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and conspiracy.
