SNAP (Food Stamp) Outreach at La Casa de Don Pedro

FREE pre-screening and application assistance available this Friday and on January 29

The SNAP Outreach team from the Community FoodBank of New Jersey will visit several La Casa de Don Pedro centers this month to help low-income families see if they might qualify for food stamps. They will help those people likely to be eligible for food stamp benefits fill out an online application. Support in English and Spanish will be available at the following locations:

  • January 15: 9am to noon at 282 First Ave, Family Success Center II, Newark
  • January 29: 9am to 3pm at 23 Broadway, Youth, Family & Health Services and Family Success Center I, Newark

The Outreach team provides free SNAP eligibility pre-screenings at emergency food pantries, senior centers, soup kitchens, churches, and other community sites serving low-income families in 18 New Jersey counties. The Community FoodBank of NJ also distributes 43 million pounds of food a year to more than 1,400 programs which feed almost 1 million New Jersey residents.
