Tractor Trailer Crashes Into Newark Police Car (PHOTOS)
A tractor trailer and a Newark police car collided as the officer exited a driveway on Doremus Avenue, authorities said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A tractor trailer and a police car collided on Wednesday in Newark, sending the officer in the car to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, authorities said.
The t-bone collision took place around 11 a.m. on the 800-block of Doremus Avenue when a tractor trailer crashed into a police car that was exiting a nearby driveway, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
A male officer driving the police vehicle complained of pain and was transported to University Hospital in Newark for evaluation and treatment. The tractor trailer driver remained on the scene and wasn’t injured in the crash, police said.

No summonses were issued as a result of the collision, police said.
