Tractor Trailer Kills Elizabeth Man In Newark, Leaves Scene: ECPO
A tractor trailer struck and killed an Elizabeth resident in Newark as he was helping another driver back up, prosecutors said.
NEWARK, NJ — A tractor trailer struck and killed an Elizabeth resident during a hit-and-run in Newark on Tuesday, police said.
Jesus Acevedo, 63, of Elizabeth, was helping the driver of a tractor trailer back up their vehicle on the 100-block of Avenue L at 6:12 p.m. when a second tractor trailer struck him and left the scene, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated.
Acevedo was pronounced dead at the scene 6:48 p.m., prosecutors said.
