Victims Attacked With Pipe, Bottles, Metal Object In Newark: Police

Newark police are searching for multiple assault suspects, including a trio accused of attacking a victim with a pipe and glass bottles.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are searching for multiple assault suspects, including a trio who allegedly attacked a victim with a pipe and glass bottles, and a man who broke another man’s arm with a “metal object,” authorities announced this week.

On Monday evening, Newark police said they are searching for three people who recently attacked a victim with a metal pipe and glass bottles.

The Newark Department of Public Safety said the assault took place on the 100-block of Brunswick Street at 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 18. According to police, three people attacked the victim then fled the area in a black Honda heading southbound on Brunswick Street.

Newark police released a photo of one of the suspects, which can be seen below.

“Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation,” authorities said.

ATTACKED WITH METAL OBJECT

On Tuesday, Newark police issued another call for the public’s help, this time in connection with an assault that happened on Aug. 15.

The Newark Department of Public Safety released the following statement about the attack:

“Police responded to a report about an aggravated assault that occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. at Clinton Avenue and South 11th Street. As the victim was walking toward that intersection, the male suspect got out of a white pickup truck carrying a metal object that he hit the victim with several times. The suspect then fled westbound on Clinton Avenue toward Clinton Place, and the victim was treated at University Hospital for a broken arm he sustained during the assault.”

Police said the suspect is described as a man about 5 feet 8 inches and between 150 to 160 pounds, with black hair. He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a white jacket.
