Have You Met Newark Tours is offering historical walking tours of Branch Brook Park in the month of April during Newark's famed Cherry Blossom Season. This year, the annual festival celebrating the blossoms, Bloomfest, is celebrating 50 years. Each Have You Met Newark Walking tour covers the historic Southern Division of the Olmsted-designed park. The tours will be held at 11 a.m. on April 4th, 12th, 18th, and 19th. For tickets, visit Eventbrite here

Guides will show attendees around the beautiful, blossom rich area of the park and share historical information about the park's founding, the construction of I-280 highway, Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Barringer High School, and more. The tour goes in depth on the varieties of Cherry Blossom Trees themselves and the history of how 5,000 trees came to be located in the heart of Newark.
