Watch Touching Tribute To Hospital Workers In Newark, East Orange

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Workers at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, University Hospital, Saint Michael’s Medical Center and East Orange General Hospital have been putting their lives at risk on the frontline of the coronavirus battle.

On Wednesday, emergency responders in Newark and East Orange offered them a well deserved “thank you.”

EAST ORANGE

East Orange Mayor Ted Green, along with the city’s fire and police departments, brought lunch to the health care professionals of East Orange General Hospital.

Along with a meal, they brought a cavalcade of police cars with flashing lights and a message of thanks.

NEWARK

In Newark, the city’s fire and police departments visited Newark Beth Israel, University Hospital, and St. Michael’s on Wednesday morning.

Clad in masks and gloves, dozens of emergency responders gave doctors, nurses and other staff members a resounding round of applause to thank them for putting their lives on the line.

Each hospital expressed gratitude for the display on social media.

“It was a great moment in Newark and wonderful pick-me-up for our employees who are working so hard,” Newark Beth Israel administrators wrote. “Thank you.”
