Water Main Break Near Rt. 21 Causes Traffic Delays On Thursday

A break near Route 21 caused traffic delays ahead of the evening rush hour on Thursday, officials said. Residential water is not affected.

NEWARK, NJ — A water main break near Route 21 in Newark caused traffic delays ahead of the evening rush hour on Thursday, officials said.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety:

“A six-inch water main break at Route 21, between Clay Street and the Rt. 280 ramp exit, is causing traffic delays in the area. Residential water is not affected. Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes as repairs are being addressed.”
