Youth Charged in Stabbing of Barringer High Student

A boy has been charged with murder after a 17-year-old Barringer High School student stabbed last week died from his wounds, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.

Red-light cameras in Newark have helped reduce the amount of rear-end and right-angle crashes at 10 city intersections, according to data released Wednesday.

Kamilah Ali was found shot in the hallway of her home in the 800 block of S. 17th Street in Newark Wednesday night, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. The shooting was reported at 10:30 p.m. Ali was pronounced dead at 11:07 p.m. at University Hospital.

A man and a teenager have been arrested for the murder last month of Jamil Bader, an 18-year-old father gunned down while he worked in his family’s Clinton Avenue bodega.
