Election Day: Where to Vote in Newark

As of Monday, just seven of 108 polling sites in Newark are down but alternate locations have been established, according to Essex County Clerk Chris Durkin.

To find out where you can vote, text your street address, with city, state and zip code to number 877877 or visit the clerk’s web site here.

Voters who are being sent to alternate polling places can also report to their normal polling place, where they will be told where they should go to vote.

Displaced voters can also vote electronically by submitting a mail-in ballot application by email or face to their county clerk, according to the League of Women Voters. Once an application is approved, the clerk will electronically send a ballot to the voter via fax or email, in accordance with the voter's preference. Voters must return their electronic ballot by fax or email no later than Tuesday 8 p.m.
