Why EPA Lead Certified - Lead Certification Class is Important?

EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead safety practices and other measures to prevent lead poisoning.

Renovation activities like sanding the board, cutting, and demolition can create dust and chips of lead by disturbing lead paint which can be harmful to adults and children.

To protect against this risk, 22nd of April 2008, EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead safety practices and other measures to prevent lead poisoning. As a rule, the April 22, 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and paint to alter the lead paint in homes, kindergartens and schools built before 1978 must be EPA lead certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

EPA requires companies to perform maintenance, repair and painting that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes, childcare facilities and schools have been certified by the EPA and renovators who are using certificates train the EPA approved training providers to follow the example of safety work practices. Individuals can become EPA lead certified remodelers by a lead certification class of eight hours from the Environmental Protection Agency approved instructor.
