Wu-Tang Rapper’s Weed Dispensary Opens In Newark
Raekwon, Charlamagne Tha God and Bakari Sellers will host the grand opening of Hashstoria in New Jersey.
NEWARK, NJ — A Wu-Tang Clan founder is getting ready to celebrate the grand opening of his new marijuana dispensary in New Jersey this week.
Raekwon the Chef will be one of several stars on hand at the launch of Hashstoria’s newest location at 799 Broad Street in the historic Four Corners district of Newark on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Also featuring media personality Charlamagne Tha God and former South Carolina legislator Bakari Sellers, the grand opening event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. will include a DJ, a food truck, giveaways and raffles – not to mention tons of “top tier flower.”
Hashstoria plans to evolve into a premier consumption lounge next year. Like other recreational cannabis dispensaries in New Jersey, it is adult-use only. See Related: NJ Clears Way For Weed Lounges, Cannabis Consumption Areas

Rachael Grochowski of Montclair-based RHG Architecture + Design, the architect behind the project, shared some interior renderings of the new dispensary (see photos above).
“This project is more than just a retail experience – it’s a place where people can connect, feel a sense of belonging, and contribute to the energy and culture that makes Newark so special,” Grochowski said.

Sellers, a civil rights attorney and partner at Hashstoria, emphasized the brand’s dedication to social equity and community engagement.
“We are committed to working with the great city of Newark to safely and legally expand the cannabis industry here,” Sellers said. “We appreciate the collaboration with the mayor’s office and the city council, and we look forward to making a meaningful impact in the community by creating opportunities and fostering local talent.”
Raekwon has been teasing the grand opening on social media, recently commenting that “dreams do manifest.”
“Cannabis is just one part of our vision for Newark,” the music legend said. “We’re not just normalizing cannabis use ... we’re using it as a catalyst to uplift our people and culture, much like hip-hop has done for decades.”
“We’re proud to be part of Newark’s growing renaissance,” Raekwon added. “We’re bridging the gap between the city’s rich history and its bright future, helping to write the next chapter.”
Hashstoria has three other facilities in Oregon.
