16 Handles Frozen Yogurt Opens Store on Rutgers Campus
The New York-based frozen yogurt chain offers all Kosher flavors.

The chain opened its newest store on the campus of Rutgers University in The Plaza at Livingston Campus on Friday, the store’s owners announced.
The store serves 16 rotating flavors of frozen yogurt and a toppings bar, as well as cakes and Fro-yo cookie sandwiches.
All flavors have received The National Yogurt Association’s seal of approval, according to Summit 16 Handles owners and franchisees of the Rutgers location, Shabbir and Farrah Bhalloo.

“Frozen yogurt is all about fun, friends, and family and our premium, delicious flavors and toppings are going to raise the bar on frozen yogurt for students and visitors at Rutgers,” Farah Bhalloo said, adding that there will be a promotion for Rutgers fraternities and sororities this weekend. “The organization that brings the most people to our store will receive a percentage of their sales.”
For its grand opening this weekend, 16 Handles offered 50 percent off yogurt for a couple hours, a prize wheel and a live DJ performed.

According to the owners, the store’s opening created 18 jobs in the New Brunswick community.
16 Handles is open from noon-midnight daily. The owners will plant 16 trees daily through its partnership with Trees for the Future. 16 Handles has planted over 150,000 trees since it was founded in 2008 by Solomon Choi, according to the owners.
There are currently 40 16 Handles locations in six states, and the owners estimate a total of 50 will be open by the end of the year.
