AIR QUALITY ALERT: How Hot, Sticky Will It Get In New Brunswick Today?

It’s going to be another hot day in Middlesex County, with temperatures in the 90s and high humidity.

That is going to make the air quality a bit difficult for those who have breathing issues, the National Weather Service warns in an air quality alert issued Monday morning.

The air quality alert is set to remain in effect through midnight Monday, forecasters say, as ozone levels are expected to hit 110 in the area on Monday, according to the forecast at www.airnow.gov.

The high temperature is expected to hit 93 degrees by 3 p.m. with a heat index of 97, and temperatures lingering near 80 degrees most of the night, according to weather.com.

Tuesday’s high will be about 92 degrees, but isolated thunderstorms will move in, according to the weather service. Those storms will remain a possibility through the rest of the week, when highs are expected to be in the 80s.
