• Two Men Sentenced in Connection with 2025 Shooting Death of New Brunswick Teen (TAPinto.net) — New Brunswick residents are learning that two 18-year-old men have been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the 2025 shooting death of a 16-year-old city resident near Rutgers Street and Lee Avenue. Prosecutors say the pair pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter, must serve at least 85 percent of their terms under New Jersey's No Early Release Act, and were prosecuted as adults after a joint investigation by city police and county detectives.
• Patti Smith Opens Up About Her Lifelong Love of Poetry Ahead of NJ Festival Appearance (njmonthly.com) — New Brunswick gets a shout-out as Patti Smith recalls longtime collaborator Lenny Kaye once living there, part of a tight New Jersey circle that also includes Milltown and Hoboken musicians. She describes how their shared roots will shape a special, poetry-centered performance at the Dodge Poetry Festival in Newark, where family and bandmates will join her for an intimate, one-of-a-kind set.
• Flemington Motorcyclist, 33, Killed In Crash With Pickup Truck In Clinton Township: Prosecutor (dailyvoice.com) — A Flemington motorcyclist died after being airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick following a collision with a pickup truck in Clinton Township. Authorities say he struck the rear passenger side of the truck as it turned into a driveway, and investigators from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office are asking anyone with information about the Sunday afternoon crash to come forward.
