BECOMING A GIRLS ON THE RUN TEAM!

Find out what's happening in New Brunswickfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Through the Girls on the Run 10-week program, girls in 3rd-5th or 6th-8th grade are inspired to reach their full potential! Along with this great opportunity for each girl, their friends and families also discover the positive energy you get when you have a healthy, active lifestyle. As of today, Girls on the Run of Central NJ provides this amazing program at over 60 sites in Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Camden counties.

This past week we based our lesson on, “BECOMING A GIRLS ON THE RUN TEAM”

“It helps us learn about each other!”, “To learn how respect each other!”

These were just some of the answers the girls shouted out during practice. From that point the coach then went on to ask the girls to brainstorm some ideas about what they were expecting from being a member of Girls on the Run.

“Learning to encourage each other!”, “Not putting each other down!”

The girls had such great responses for establishing expectations of their Girls on the Run team and how they will create everlasting connections between each other. Each week throughout the 10-week program the Girls on the Run team will be exploring life skills through an experience-based curriculum, which creatively integrates running. For many of the girls this is a life changing experience and it is truly amazing to watch them blossom each and every week.

If interested in having your daughter involved in this experience or to become a leader in the process yourself, SIGN UP TODAY!
