Cars Parked In Rutgers Parking Lots Broken Into, Police Say
The cars were broken into Sunday night. Rutgers students reported finding their cars damaged, and items stolen.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Cars parked in Rutgers University parking lots have been broken into in the past two days, announced Rutgers Police in a warning to the community.
The cars were parked in Lots 99 A, B, C (38, 42 and 46 Biel Road West in New Brunswick) and Lot 81 (179 Ryders Lane).
All the cars were broken into sometime between the hours of 11:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21 and 3:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22. Rutgers Police did not say exactly how many cars were broken into; they only said it was "several" vehicles.

The victims are all either Rutgers students or professors. They reported finding damage to their cars and that items of value had been stolen from inside the cars.
Rutgers Police ask people not to leave valuables hidden in plain sight in their cars. Anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the RUPD’s Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.
