College Student From NJ Killed In Triple Fatal Car Wreck: Cops

A NJ woman was among two college students and one other person who were killed in a South Carolina car wreck this weekend, police said.

A New Jersey woman was among two college students and one other person who were killed in a South Carolina car wreck this weekend, police said.

Shea Crothers, 2o, who was born in New Brunswick and lived Monroe Township, died when two cars collided Friday on US 15, just east of the I-26 and I-95 junction,

in Orangeburg County, according to WNCT.

Eighteen-year-old James Stanley of Sneads Ferry and 51-year-old Walter Lee Prezzy Jr. of Holly Hill, SC also died in the crash, according to nj.com. Two other East Carolina University students are hospitalized with serious injuries.

Crothers and Stanley were passengers in one car, according to WNCT. Prezzy was the driver of the second car.

Crothers's obituary said she was an avid competition cheerleader with World Cup All Star Cheer and Monroe Township High School.

At East Carolina University, Crothers was majoring in Communications and was a member of Tri Sigma National Sorority. She was a Communicant of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in East Brunswick, according to her obituary.

Surviving are her parents, Thomas Crothers and Lisa M. Crothers; her brother, Kyle Crothers; her grandmother, Esther Crothers, and her beloved dog, Rudy, and cat, Boo, both of whom she rescued.

Crothers is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:15 am, at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, East Brunswick. Cremation will be private.

Friends may visit on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
