Featuring an exhibition tour of "Abstraction in Sculpture," a jazz concert with the Vanessa Perea Band presented by The New Brunswick Jazz Project, and The Art of Paper Cutouts and Design activity.
Join a docent-led tour of Abstraction in Sculpture, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Drawn from the museum’s permanent collection, the installation includes such artists as Jean Arp, John Goodyear, Louise Nevelson, and Alan Saret.
The Vanessa Perea Band performs American and Brazilian jazz standards from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., with a second set from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m., in the Lower Dodge Gallery. Joining vocalist Vanessa Perea are Billy Test on piano, Tom DiCarlo on bass, Evan Sherman on drums, and special guest Robert Edwards on trombone.
Follow the traditions of Henri Matisse and Romare Bearden – or develop your own style – in The Art of Paper Cutouts and Designs activity, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Artist-instructor Patricia Brace leads the hands-on activity, with all materials provided, in the Greenwall classroom.

Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for adults over 65, and free for museum members, as well as Rutgers students, faculty and staff (with ID), and children under 18.
