Art After Hours Reception: Aspects of Architecture: "The Prints of John Taylor Arms"
Celebrate the new exhibition Aspects of Architecture: The Prints of John Taylor Arms with a reception during Art After Hours on Wednesday, May 2, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University.
Admission is $6 for adults; $5 for 65 and over; and free for museum members, children under 18, and Rutgers students, faculty, and staff (with ID).
Art After Hours is held on the first Wednesday of the month at the Zimmerli. The May program begins with a 5:30 p.m. exhibition tour, led by Marilyn Symmes, Zimmerli’s Director of the Morse Research Center for Graphic Arts and Curator of Prints and Drawings. A performance of medieval music will begin at 6:30 p.m.
An informal perspective drawing class for aspiring artists of all ages and levels takes place from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. Artist Patricia Brace explores how Arms employed linear perspective and instructs participants in drawing buildings, applying the principles of two-point perspective. The Museum Store features 20 percent off all purchases and a drawing to win a $25 gift certificate redeemable during the Red Dot Sales Event throughout June.
