Three Fatty Arbuckle films: A Reckless Romeo, The Waiters’ Ball, and He Did and He Didn’t will be shown. These three comedy shorts have a combined run time of on hour and represent the best of Mack Sennett and his Keystone Studio founded in Fort Lee in 1912. Slapstick comedy was born on the streets of Fort Lee when Mack Sennett, working for DW Griffith and Biograph studio, in 1909 starred in the first American slapstick comedy, The Curtain Pole.
The program will be held outdoors, on the back patio and grounds of the Cornelius Low House Museum. A limited number of chairs will be provided on the patio. It is recommended that anyone wishing to attend bring their own folding chairs. Rain date will be Thursday, July 19, 2012.
