Civil War – Blake Blasingame (Indian Wells, California)
Civil War is a short, taut thriller and a chilling allegory about an American political system driven by a compulsion to dominate and destroy.   On a summer afternoon, General Tor Johnson and Secretary of Defense Sheldon Bunning relax in a hot tub drinking hard liquor while running the military invasion of a foreign country. When presidential candidate Senator Davis and lobbyist Marvin Kohler arrive at the party with a business offer it triggers a major dispute.  2012; 18 min.
Red Scare - William Dautrick (Bayonne, New Jersey)
A hilarious feature film in the style of Mel Brooks and the Naked Gun Series, Red Scare resurrects the great old days when all that unsuspecting, God-fearing Americans had to worry about was fluoridated water and Evil Russians.  When Vlad Sinisterski, along with his pet zombie Pieter and sexy Soviet spy Sasha, unleash an army of zombies upon the capitalists of the U.S. of A., the only thing that stands in their way is a brave yet bumbling American hero, somewhat inappropriately named Rex Steel.  Summoning up steely determination, Rex fights to put a stop to the Commie menace once and for all with the help of the beautiful reporter Veronica Valencourt, high school greaser Tony, and the wide-eyed teenager Becky Sue. 2012; 97 min. With in-person appearances by director William Dautrick, producer/screenwriter Samuel Platizky and members of the cast!
