Trip: The Cloisters and The Bronx Museum of the Arts

Zimmerli members may take advantage of reduced rates on day trips to cultural destinations throughout the year. Travel packages generally include bus fare and gratuity, museum entrance fees, guided tours, and a variety of pre-paid meal options. The Cloisters is the branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. Located on four acres overlooking the Hudson River in Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park, the building incorporates elements from five medieval French cloisters and other monastic sites in southern France.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts

The Bronx Museum of the Arts maintains a permanent collection of twentieth and twenty-first century works by artists of African, Asian, and Latin American ancestry. Additionally, the museum collects works by artists for whom the Bronx has been critical to their artistic practice and development.
