Fire Breaks Out At Rutgers Heating/Cooling Plant Friday Morning
A fire broke out Friday morning in the central heating and cooling plant, located on the Busch campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A fire broke out Friday morning in the central heating and cooling plant, located on the Busch campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, according to a Rutgers spokesman.
The heating and cooling plant is located at 592 Titsworth Place and is a non-residential building. The fire started at 10:21 a.m. Friday.
The building was evacuated and the fire has been extinguished, though the scene is still active as of 11:24 a.m. Friday, said Rutgers spokesman Neal Buccino.

All six Piscataway Township fire companies, which are all volunteer, responded to put out the fire, and Rutgers campus police responded as well.
