Israel Defense Forces Disabilities Advocate to Address Central NJ
Tiran Attia will update JNF supporters on how Special in Uniform is adapting to new health measurers and why he's back in the IDF

Lt. Col. (Res.) Tiran Attia will address Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF) supporters in Central NJ on the challenges people with disabilities who currently volunteer with Special in Uniform now face due to increasing restrictions on movement and social interaction aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 in Israel.
Lt. Col. (Res.) Tiran Attia is the director of Special in Uniform, a unique program operating in partnership with JNF to integrate young people with autism and other disabilities into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and, in turn, into Israeli society. Tiran was born in Israel in 1967 and has led a distinguished 28-year career in the IDF where he served as a tank commander and later as a commander of the IDF's technology and logistics forces training program for army logistics cadets. His last position in the IDF was as a Commander of the Sar-El program for army volunteers.
“Although many of us in Central NJ are housebound right now, it’s important that we stay connected and engaged with the critically important projects we support in Israel,” said JNF Central NJ President, Alyssa Russo. “Tiran has a remarkable story that’s only surpassed by the awe inspiring work he does with Special in Uniform.”
