Man Filmed Woman in Shower in Highland Park, Prosecutor Charges
It happened in 2015 and is not connected to the 36-year-old woman who was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in Highland Park Sunday, cops said.

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ - A man who used to live in Highland Park has been charged with video-recording a female visitor while she was taking a shower at his home, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey announced Tuesday. This allegedly happened in 2015 and is not connected to the 36-year-old woman who was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in Highland Park Sunday.
Karl M. Kjer, 57, was charged Friday with one count of invasion of privacy of the woman, whose image was captured in a secret recording device when she showered at his home in the borough on June 11, 2015, the county prosecutor said. The victim was visiting Kjer at his home when she was secretly recorded. Kjer no longer resides in Highland Park and currently is a resident of Jersey City. His photo, above, was released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
Kjer was charged after an investigation confirmed the identity of the 19-year-old victim. He was released on a summons complaint.
