Man Hit By Train At New Brunswick Station Identified

The man hit and killed by a train Monday night​ at the New Brunswick station has been identified as a 34-year-old Monroe resident.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The man hit and killed by a train Monday night at the New Brunswick station has been identified as a 34-year-old Monroe Township resident.

An NJ Transit spokesman identified the man killed as Eric Zankel, of Monroe.

He was hit at 6:20 p.m. Monday by Northeast Corridor train 3867 at the New Brunswick station.

That train had departed Penn Station New York at 5:29 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Trenton at 6:58 p.m. The incident suspended service on the Northeast Corridor line for several hours Monday night.
