Middlesex Addiction Recovery Clinic Gets Visit From Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno

Her visit comes as New Jersey deals with a heroin and drug overdose epidemic.

Middlesex, NJ - The Center for Network Therapy, the Middlesex borough addiction recovery clinic featured in this popular Patch article, was visited by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno on Monday.

“Addiction is a disease that should be treated as just that," said Guadagno. "As a former sheriff, I’ve seen that a system of punishment without treatment is a revolving door that feeds addiction."

The Center for Network Therapy, on Cedar Avenue, is unique because it is an out-patient addiction center. Most treatment centers in New Jersey are in-patient. Patch interviewed "Brian," a 28-year-old man who was born and raised in Middlesex, and then became a heroin addict in college. He was cured, as much as anyone can be, at CNT of his addiction to heroin and painkillers. Read his story here.
